Please be advised that NYCT Terminal has notified us that all import cargo will be subject to a mandatory 48-hour hold period. This decision by NYCT was approved by US Customs to ensure compliance with their recently announced zero-tolerance policy for containers being gated out of a facility if they are on hold for an examination. This action will enable NYCT to appropriately process any container holds applied by Customs after the start of vessel operations. We understand that this process will be temporary, once NYCT becomes a full AMS Service Center . This has been targeted for operation sometime during December. During this period, we expect a number of delays.
