John S. Connor hires Business Development Coordinator

Glen Burnie, Md. (1st draft, 4/25/07) – John S. Connor, Inc., a full service logistics company based in Glen Burnie, Md., has hired Penny Taylor as business development coordinator.

Taylor has extensive experience in the international shipping industry. “Penny’s strong background will be very beneficial with regard to our new Shanghai to Baltimore weekly Less-than-Containerload (LCL) service that we have recently introduced,” stated Richard Higgins, Connor’s sales and marketing director.

Prior to joining Connor, Taylor was with Streamline Shippers Association where she specialized in selling FOB freight from China into the U.S. Before that she was with Cho Yang America in Baltimore, where, as supervisor of customer service, she developed five trade lanes in the mid-Atlantic region.

Earlier, Taylor worked for Military Sealift Command at the company’s European headquarters office in London. She began her career in the logistics industry at Evergreen Marine Corporation in Baltimore, where she was involved in the routing of cargo, tariff applications, and service contracts.

Taylor is active in industry organizations including the Traffic Club of Baltimore and Propeller Club of Baltimore.
