Customs-Trade Partneriship Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Update

On 1/25/02 Customs posted an update on their web site regarding the proposed Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). The ealier item in our HOT NEWS indicated some preliminary information on what the program was and how it would benefit participants. The update Customs has issued goes into more detail regarding some of the aspects of the program as to how it will affect the entire supply chain related to imports.

Customs expects to implement the program with a pilot group of 5 to 7 participants. Once the results of the pilot are reviewed it is expected that the program will be open to any participant willing to meet the standards.
