Please be informed that there will be an unofficial strike at the Greek port of Thessaloniki, January 5-13, 2008.

The dispute is rooted in the Greek government´s planned privatization of the port. The latest round of labor unrest comes after a government announcement that a global tender for operators to run Thessaloniki Port under a 30-year concession would be launched in January.

For this reason, we are advising clients to avoid shipping any cargo to or from Thessaloniki Port in this period, thus safeguarding against demurrage charges and delivery problems.
