OTEXA Monthly Apparel Monitoring Data for Possible ADD

OTEXA Continues Monitoring of Five Product Categories along with the International Trade Administration to determine if the import data would support self-initiation of an antidumping duty.

OTEXA states that it is initially monitoring five sensitive product categories of imports from Vietnam – trousers, shirts, sweaters, underwear, and swimwear. This monitoring will occur at various levels, including the three-digit textile/apparel category level and the more product-specific 10-digit Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) level.

According to OTEXA, the monitored products are not intended to be static. Products may be added or removed from monitoring, as appropriate, based on analysis and/or input received from outreach efforts. For each of the listed categories in the five product groups, as well as the tariff numbers listed for each category, OTEXA provides the 2007 import data through November by:

  1. quantity in dozens,
  2. value,
  3. and
  4. unit value.
(Some of the most active categories are 348 (W/G cotton trousers/slacks/shorts), 338 (M/B knit shirts, cotton), and 339 (W/G knitshirts/blouses, cotton).)

The monitored product categories* are as follows:
Trousers
