JOHN S. CONNOR, INC. IS NOW A CERTIFIED CARGO SCREENING FACILITY

We are extremely pleased to announce that effective May 4, 2010, John S. Connor, Inc. at Washington Dulles International Airport has become a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF).

Security Overview: The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been mandated by Congress to achieve 100% cargo screening on a per piece level of all cargo that will be loaded onto a passenger aircraft to, from and within the U.S by August 3, 2010.

 
 
A major component of the screening process is the Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP). This voluntary program was designed to enable cargo that is pre-screened by certified cargo screening facilities who meet stringent security and chain of custody requirements to deliver the cargo to the air carrier without need for further screening.
 
 

John S. Connor, Inc. has made significant investments in technology including Explosive Trace Detection, intensive training, security and chain of custody procedures, that allows us to perform cargo screening for our customers prior to their cargo being tendered to the airlines.

What does this mean for our customers?

  1. By pre-screening your shipments, we will be able to move your cargo as booked without incurring potential delays due to long airline screening lines. Your pre-screened shipment will bypass further airline screening and receive higher boarding priority. The TSA and airlines predict that there could be many instances of bottlenecks at all major airports if only the airlines are doing cargo screening when the August 3rd deadline comes into effect.
  2. Non intrusive screening technology – This will ensure very minimum physical handling of your cargo.
  3. Palletized shipments – cargo that consists of multiple boxes on pallets may need to be broken down and each box screened individually. We feel that there is no one better qualified to do this for our customers than John S. Connor, Inc. We will ensure that any cargo which needs to be broken down will be handled with extreme care and very efficiently in a secure environment. We will also have the advantage of being able to put your cargo back together as an intact pallet and ensure the continued safety and integrity of your valuable cargo on its journey. The airlines, due to space and time constrictions, offer no guarantee that your palletized cargo will be put back together in it's original form.
  4. Urgent Shipments – We will be able to ensure boarding priority as needed for all shipments that require "just in time" service.
  5. Shipments originating from the Baltimore Washington Airport area will be screened here at our IAD CCSF facility so all of our customers throughout the region will be able to take advantage of our pre-screening services.
